Special Needs - Special Seats

Children with special needs, such as premature infants, those with no head or neck control, or those in hip or body casts, are often not able to ride safely in conventional child safety seats.

The good news is that there are specially designed safety seats that can accommodate special needs. The bad news is that they are usually very expensive, and thus difficult for many parents to buy.

The Oklahoma SAFE KIDS Coalition believes that all children should have the opportunity to travel safely, and they have made these special safety seats available to parents statewide for a nominal rental fee. For more information, call SAFE KIDS at 405/271-5695.
